If you are looking for primary sources during a specific time frame, one of the easiest ways to find them would be to look at the library American history guide from that time period.  Each of the American history guides has primary sources listed for each time period.
 
You will want to take a look at the primary sources listed on the American History 1918-1945, Depression & WWII guide.  There are many primary source books listed on the primary source page, as well as some articles.
 
Another way you could try to search primary source documents for that decade specifically, would be to go into the history related databases and do a search for your topic.  Then, using the filters within the database, narrow down the dates to 1930-1939.  If anything was written about your topic during that specific time frame, it would show on the results list.  Remember, primary source documents are often documents written about an event or time frame by people who were there, so searching this way could produce something.
