The College Success Academy (CSA) guide (see link below) has the best databases to find articles on careers. You must be on campus or have a COM ID to access the databases.
A good database to start with is Academic Search Complete.
After you click on Academic Search Complete enter paramedic AND career into the search box. Click on the Search button.
Now you will see your search result list and you will want to narrow down your results using the tools on the left side of the page.
In the Limit To box on the left side, select the check box next to Full Text. Then using the left slide for publication date you will want to limit to the past 5 to 10 years.
After that you can narrow down your results more by clicking on Subject Thesaurus Tems, then click on show more, and only select the terms that are applicable to the career you have chosen. After you have selected the terms you need click on Update at the bottom of the term list.
Now that your result list is more manageable you can start reading the articles and select the ones that work best for your needs.
