Q. I need help picking a topic for my English 1301 class and finding articles about it.

Three of the databases available through the library can help you find a good topic for your research paper.  They can all be accessed through the list of current events databases linked below.

CQ Researcher: On the main page, yo can browse for topics by category or select Hot Topics for the most current issues in the news.

Issues & Controversies: From the main page of Issues & Controversies, scroll down and you will see Popular Issues that you can browse to look for topics.  You can also look at all Issues by Subject and browse them for an idea on a topic.

Gale Opposing Viewpoints: Select Browse Issues.

The library's Tips for Current Events Topics guide will also provide guidance on choosing topics.  The link on How to Find Articles will provide guidance on finding relevant articles once you select your topic.
