To find information on this topic, first try Encyclopedia Britannica, linked below. Just search star, and from the result list, select the Star (Astronomy) option. There is information on the life cycle there.
For websites, two searches worked well: death of star and also stellar evolution. You will see info from NASA and lots of links from universities, which are trust worthy.
