The first step in finding information about this topic is to see if there are any general overviews of the history of sleep research.  Once one is found, you can then search for more information on the individuals that are mentioned in the overview.

Doing a basic Google search for 'history of sleep research' will retrieve several links (such as this one from Stanford) that give a basic overview of sleep research.  You can consult these to find the names of sleep research pioneers.  You can then look for information on these people in books, eBooks, or articles in our academic databases.

To find books or eBooks, follow the link to WorldCat below and enter the name of a researcher in the search bar.  It's unlikely that many of the researchers will have books specifically about them, so you may have to expand your search to more general books about sleep disorders or sleep research.

To find articles, follow the link below to our Databases libguide and select either the science or social sciences tab to view a list of appropriate databases.  Select a database and search for the researchers name.  To better narrow your search down to relevant matches, place quotation marks around the person's name.
