Q. When doing a research paper and you reword everything in your on words is that still considered plagiarism?

Rewording is called paraphrasing. It is fine to paraphrase information found in other sources for your paper, but you have to give proper credit, just as you do with a direct quote. To do this in APA or MLA formats, use parenthetical citation.
