We do have one eBook with a chapter on Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy, Pharmacotherapy for Primary Care, but I don't know if pharmacotherapy is the type of information you need.
We have many articles available on this topic so I would suggest that you concentrate on articles. Our best databases are available on the Health & Nursing page in our databases guide. Here is a link to a very broad search using all our EBSCO health, nursing and medical dadatabases on Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy. As you can see, there are over 1,500 articles. You would want to narrow down your results to be more specific, here are some tips on how to do that:
- You can limit to full text under the Limit Your Results box.
- You can also narrow down by date. If you are a nursing student, you should not use anything older than 5 years
- You can also use Subject: Major Heading under the Narrow Results by box. Look for the closest fit to your topic and you'll have fewer articles to look through, and they will all be closer to what you want.
- You can narrow down even more by selecting a specific age group or gender under the Narrow Results by box, if it is relevant to your research.
Meanwhile if books are the only thing that will work we can help you find and get books we don't own for our students in two ways:
- TexShare
COM students, faculty and staff are eligible for the TexShare card which entitles the user to certain borrower privileges at other Texas academic and public libraries. To see if a library participates in the program, and to read their lending policy, please view the list at the libraries and catalogs link. This is generally much quicker than ILL. - ILL
COM Library offers Interlibrary Loan (ILL) to the students, faculty and staff of College of the Mainland. ILL basically involves COM Library requesting materials from other libraries. Keep in mind that ILLs can take 2-6 weeks. It can take longer depending on availability and other factors, and there is no guarantee that you will get the item requested. Requesting ILLs during summer sessions is generally not practical. There is no cost to the patron. If the only way to obtain an item is for a fee, COM Library will contact you to inform you of the cost, and ask how you wish to proceed.
See the Find & Get Items From Other Libraries guide (link below) for more information.
