If you are a College of the Mainland (COM) student, faculty or staff, your COM ID is your library card. If you are a local community member, you can purchase a COM Library card to check out physical items like print books and DVDs.

If you are not COM student, faculty, staff or community member you will need to inquire at your local library.

Cards of Community Members

Cards can be paid for at the cashier in Doyle Family Administration building (building #2). Once purchased, bring your receipt to the Library Circulation Desk to get your library card.

Here are some more details about Community library card access.

  • Due to licensing restrictions, access to any online resources will not change with the purchase of a community card. They can still only be accessed on campus.
  • Exceptions to on campus access are Libby and Hoopla which do not allow for community accounts from the COM Library.
  • This card is available to residents of Texas City, La Marque, Dickinson, San Leon, Bacliff, Hitchcock, Santa Fe, Algoa, Arcadia and Alta Loma (these cities comprise COM's tax base)
