Yes, COM Students, faulty and staff can check out print books but there are changes.

  • Print books can still be checked out by students, but the process is different. The book stacks are marked with caution tape and will be off limits to browsing so they can be virus free. Students will use the catalog to place books on hold. Staff will get them from the shelves and hold them for students to pick up. A handout on placing holds is available in the library as well as online step by step instructions and a quick video that students can watch.
  • Books should be returned to the book drop in parking lot A by the student center or the book drop on the front of the LRC.
  • Returned books will be quarantined for 4 days. The quarantine status will show up in the library catalog, OneSearch. Students can still place those books on hold.
