Q. I want to find my husband's family on the 1940 census.

Hi.You can access the 1940 census at the government website but they say that it has not yet been indexed by name. Here is a link:

If you have access to HeritageQuest through your library you can just click on 1940 on the HeritageQuest home page. If you are currrent College of the Mainland student faculty or staff just log in with your ID. https://comlib.idm.oclc.org/login?url=http://www.heritagequestonline.com/
