Yes we do! We have a few DVDs, but most of our sources are streaming. If you go to our A-Z databases: Streaming Media you'll find a collection of streaming sources that specialize in archival or documentary films.

  • Films on Demand (FOD) is the best source. There are over 28,000 streaming videos including HBO documentaries as well as other producers such as BBC, PBS and lots more. FOD can be streamed on or off campus 24/7. When off campus COM Students, faculty and staff can login with their COM account.
  • Academic Videos Online (AVON)  includes over 70,000 streaming video titles including documentaries, interviews, feature films, performances, news programs and newsreels, and demonstrations. You will find thousands of award-winning films, including Academy®, Emmy®, and Peabody® winners as well as newly released films and previously unavailable archival material. If you need videos on your topic, this database is a great place to find them!
  • We can also order many titles Swank (also listed on the -Z databases: Streaming page) if nothing in FOD or AVON works for you.

Faculty can easily grab a durable URL for any title to share with students. Go to Enhance Your Courses with Library Resources guide to find out how.

Many on the A-Z databases: Streaming list are open access that anyone can watch for free.
