You're best bet is to use our A-Z databases: Multiple databases Search (link below). These each search lots of databases simultaneously so they can save you time, they're good for almost every topic and they all have some peer reviewed articles.
Just type in your term folk medicine and select the peer reviewed option on your result page. I got the best results in ProQuest OneSearch.
