To see how to obtain an APA style citation from CINAHL, visit our How to Use CINAHL guide, linked below. On the homepage of the guide,  you will find a link to CINAHL. If you are off campus, you will have to log in with your last name and 7-digit College of the Mainland Student ID number.

To see how to get the citation, click the Cite page on the guide. It gives step-by-step instructions on obtaining the citation and correcting it in your Reference page. Essentially, once you are in the database, just copy and paste the article title into the search bar. Put quotes around the title so it searches that exact phrase.

From the result list, click on the title link. This will take you to the detailed record page. On the right are article tools, including citation. The icon is a yellow piece of paper. Click on that and locate the APA citation. Copy and paste it into your Word document, correcting font, spacing, and indentation. Go over the citation to ensure the author name is handled correctly, the article title is in sentence font, the journal title is italicized, etc.
