To find articles on this subject, follow the link below to our Databases libguide.  Select the Hot Topics & News tab to view the databases most appropriate for finding articles on this topic.

Facts on File : Issues & Controversies and Gale : Opposing Viewpoints are good places to find introductory information  and basic arguments about current issues like gun control.  You can find them with a basic search for gun control in the search bar.

The databases provided by EBSCO (Academic Search Complete is good for scholarly articles, MasterFile Premier is good for magazines), are much larger but also contain articles about gun control.  You can start off with a basic search for gun control, though this will retrieve thousands of articles, not all of which may be relevant.  You can narrow this down to a more manageable and relevant list of results through the options on the left side of the screen.  Limit to full-text, and then select subjects from the Subject: Thesaurus Term tab that are relevant to your search.  There should be one for gun control available, as well as others that would narrow the search down further (example: firearms & crime).  You could also try entering more detailed criteria in the search bar if you are looking for articles on a particular facet of the subject (ex. gun control AND concealed weapons).

You can find more information about using the databases in our How to Use Hot Topics Databases libguide.
