Yes. You must have a current COM ID to check out any material from the library. Click on the "how to get your student ID card" link below to scan the QR code to get your ID card.

Regarding reserve material/textbooks; the Library most likely will not have the current textbooks in our main collection to check out.  It may however be on our Reserve shelf if it was provided by your professor.  Reserve books have a different set of loan periods. Most are for Library use only, which just means that you can check it out but it can not leave the Library and must be returned before you leave.  You must have your student ID with you to check out Reserve books from the circulation services desk.

No, not all Reserve materials have a check-out loan period of "Library Use Only." Loan periods are determined by the Department/Instructor placing the item(s) on Reserve.

Reserve materials may have any of the following check-out loan periods. The loan periods are determined by your instructor.

  • One (1) day
  • Three (3) days
  • Seven (7) days
  • Library Use Only (Reserve items can ONLY be used in the Library, they may not be taken outside of the Library)

Fines for overdue Reserve materials are:

  • $1.00 per day
