To find the answers to these questions you'll need to do some reading.

If you do not have a general idea of reasons, you can get an overview from the article page of the American History 1450-1763, Early American & Colonial guide (link below). There are direct links to key factors for this in the Get an Overview. In fact, the name of the links are terms you could probably use in a search, but you should really take a look at the content on Britannica to have a a better idea of the reasons.

You should also take a look at the Books and eBooks page of the guide to find some books on daily life, puritans and slavery that should be helpful. In addition to these terms, you might try using great awakening (puritans) and indenture (labor) as search terms.
