The phrases that will probably get the best results for your research are "visually impaired" and "assistive technology." We have articles in our EBSCO databases, but since you don't have a College of the Mainland ID, you won't be able to to use them unless you come in to the library.
Meanwhile, there is some information freely available on the web. When you are doing research and want reliable sources but you don't have access to databases from your College or local public library, Google Scholar is a great resource.
Most of the articles in Google Scholar come with an abstract, but some will be available full text for anyone online. If you don't have access to full text through your library, here are some things to try to get the full text:
- You can identify full text articles quickly by finding [PDF] or [HTML] on the result list. When you see one of these options, just click on it to get the full text.
- If you don't see the [PDF] or [HTML] on the result list, look under the article summary on the list and click on All version--there may be a free full text version there.
- If you still have not found the full text, try Related articles under the summary to see if articles on the same topic are available full text.
