Go to the databases by A to Z linked below.  The databases are in alphabetical order, so click on 'e' to search EBSCO, 'g' to search Gale and 'p' to search Proquest.

 I got many results from Infotrac by searching for black women AND hair. Be sure to play around with the related subjects displayed, to ensure you cover your bases.

Depending on what other information you want, you should try searching EBSCO: You will find more current event articles, and also some more academic sources regarding the chemicals involved. Additionally, you will find articles that discuss the social and cultural aspects. I ran the same search as above and got results.
