Answer

COM library has many books on United States history, though the time periods covered vary from book to book.  To find books:

  1. Go to COMCat and select "Basic Search."
  2. Type "United States history" in the search bar and select "Subject begins with" in the Search By field.
  3. COMCat will display the subject headings available that are related to U.S. History.  Clicking on a subject heading will display the books that the library carries on that subject.

You can view the results of such a search here.  While there are many subject headings for specific time periods in United States history, there is not one specifically for 1877 to the present.  You can either look through the books listed under the general "United States - History" heading at the top of the list, or select headings for periods after 1877.
