Answer

You can access the Galveston County Daily News as well as the Houston Chronicle through our news database, America's News if you are on campus, have a COM ID or library card. Here's how:

  1. From COM Library's home page (link below), choose America's News from the Go Straight to the Good Stuff box and hit Go. It is also available from the News tab on Databases by Subject page.
  2. In America's News, look and under Search shortcuts and click on Galveston County Daily News, The to browse or search the full text, which is updated daily.

Note About Browsing Recent Issues
The dates when articles appear in the recent issues in America's News varies from when published in the print versions of the newspapers, and may vary from paper to paper. For instance, some news stories from the Galveston County Daily News may appear in American's News the day before they are published in print and Houston Chronicle stories reflect date published in print and are available from America’s News one day later.
