I need to embed an Excel chart in Word, then update only a specific chart.

I am copying the chart, but I cannot enlarge and change the chart type as the instructions state that I need to do.

Answer

You will need to select only the specific chart that you are being instructed to copy and embed this chart in the Word document using Paste Special, As: Microsoft Office Excel Object. Once this is done, open the Word document and double click on the chart you would like only to show in the Word document. Right click on the chart and choose Change Chart Type, select what type of chart you would like and select OK. You will still be able to select other worksheets in the Excel file from the Word document after clicking on the picture object of the chart when necessary, but only the specific chart that you want to appear in the Word document will be shown when the picture is not selected for updating or changing information.
