where can I get some infromation about two short stories Lawerence's "The Rocking Horse winner and Jackson's "The Lottery" I need to compare and
I am not sure what you mean by information. Do you need the stories themselves or articles discussing the stories?
If it is the first you are talking about, we do have both stories in the library in print format. Lawrence's "The Rocking Horse Winner" is also available in ebook format, but I did not see "The Lottery." However, it can be easily located online if you cannot make it to the library. I will be happy to explain how to find it if you need me to.
For the second, you can look up both titles separately in our EBSCO articles database, and find articles discussing the various topics discussed in both. There are no articles that discuss both at one time, but if you have a certain similarity or difference you want to use to discuss them, you can narrow the search down that way.
First, go to the main LibGuides web page and click the link on the left EBSCO articles. In the search engine, type in "D.H. Lawrence's "The Rocking Horse Winner." After running the search, click on the "full text" option to the left. Then, scroll down and find the subject section on the left. This should help you to narrow it further based on what aspect of the story you need to discuss.
On a separate search window, you complete the same steps, but substitute "Shirley Jackson's "The Lottery"" in the search engine and limit for full text and subject.
This will give you many options to choose from. You could then compare the two articles that discuss the short stories. If you already have a certain aspect in mind, I can help you narrow your search further, but this general search should get you started. Let me know if I can help you further.
I hope that helps!
