Q

How do I quote a list MLA style?

I am working on an essay using MLA format. I need to use a list quoted from a book. Would I keep the list double spaced or reduce the list to single space? I am using a block quote for this list.

Answer

A list that takes over four lines would be formatted the same way as any other quote over four lines. MLA requires that any quotation over four lines be started on a new line, indented 1 inch from the margin, double spaced without quotation marks, essentially a block quote. At the end of the block quote include your in text citation with authors last name and page number within parenthesis.
