Good news--several of our COM Library databases can help you come up with ideas for controversial or hot topics for your paper. Even better, once you use one of these databases for ideas, you'll already have one source (or more) for your paper!

  • CQ Researcher
    Browse the Issue Tracker fro broad topics, then click to see specific reports under the topic of interest.
  • Facts on File: Issues & Controversies Need a Topic?
    Try the Issues & Controversies Need a Research Topic? page. (see link below). You can browse through topics until you find one you like. You can also use the Issues Pro and Con list and Issues A-Z list to get ideas for topics.
  • Opposing Viewpoints: Issues
    Get a list of ideas from the Issues page. Access from the grey toolbar below the Opposing Viewpoints banner.
