Hi

To find academic sources on Macbeth, first go to the Databases by Subject LibGuide link below. Once there, select the Literature tab.

Under the Literature tab, you will see links to several databases. GVRL eBooks has several articles discussing this work. Simply type Macbeth into the search box.

Next, go to to Chadwyck-Healey: Literature Online. Select the Criticism option on the left. Once the search form appears, enter Macbeth into the Subject line. At the bottom of the form, select the full text option and hit search.

EBSCO: Academic Search Complete has many criticism articles. In the search box enter Macbeth AND shakespeare. Once you have the result list, select the full text option on the left. You will still have thousands of results. To narrow this down, select the Subject Thesaurus option on the left, then the Show More link to see all the available subject terms.

Start checking off appropriate subject boxes. Definitely select the criticism box and characters and characteristics in literature. You can play around with the other subjects to see how that affects results.

If you want books and eBooks, go to our catalog, WorldCat, linked below. Type macbeth criticism into the search box. In the result list, it will say if each source is a print or eBook. Click on the title link to get into the record. For eBooks, you will find a link to access. For print books, you'll see the call number and availability.

You can get the MLA citation from all our sources except Literature Online. For instructions on obtaining the citation, go to the MLA Style LibGuide below and select the Cite the EZ Way tab. There are instructions with pictures for all our sources. You will also find a link to a citation generator, which can help you create them for other sources.
