I need to find literary criticism articles and books.
Answer
No problem.
Go to our Databases by Subject LibGuide and select the Literature tab (the link is below). The databases there will be helpful to you.
I'm going to give you a quick rundown on how to search. For more detailed info, please see our How to Use Literature Databases LibGuide, also linked below. It includes step-by-step instructions with screen shots.
-
GVRL eBooks: You can search for you story in the search bar or click on the icon for Short Stories for Students and search within that book for criticism on your story. That search bar is on the right.
-
Gale: Literature Resources from Gale: Type the name of your story into the search bar and select Name of Work from the options immediatley below that search bar, then hit search.
- EBSCO: Academic Search Complete: Type the author's name + the title (ex: William Faulkner + A Rose for Emily). This will make the database search for both elements at the same time. From your result list, check the option for full text. Click on the Subject Thesaurus terms and select criticism and characters and characteristics in literature (if you see those options).
-
Chadwyck Healey: Literature Online: Immediately select the Criticism link on the left. In the Subject field, type the name of your story. Select the Full Text option at the bottom and hit search.
