Answer

If you just need a basic definition of the term, you can try a basic google search like define:environmental degradation.  Of course, this method will likely direct you to Wikipedia, which is not the most reliable source.  However, you can look in the citations of the Wikipedia article about the topic and possibly find links more authoritative sources. I did this and found a definition from The United States Office for Disaster Risk Reduction: http://www.unisdr.org/we/inform/terminology.

Credo Reference also has a basic definition of the term.

If you want to find articles about the topic, click the link below to our Databases by Subject Guide.  The databases available under both the Science tab and the Hot Topics & News Tab should have articles about environmental degradation. Many of the databases are provided through EBSCO.  In these databases, you can do a basic search for environmental degradation and then use the limiters on the left of the screen to refine your search (full-text, subject terms, sources).

For books, follow the link below to the library catalog WorldCat and search for environmental degradation.  There are several books and eBooks available.
