How do I format an APA citation for a web site? What about for a book?
Answer
The format for an APA web site citation is:
Author, A. A., & Author, B. B. (Date of publication). Title of document. Retrieved from http://Web address
You can auto-create these types of citations with Son of Citation Machine, linked below. Select the Web Page option and then either enter the web address or fill in all available information.
For a book, the format is:
Author's name. "Title of the Article." Periodical title. Series number or name if available. Volume number if available. Issue number if available. Date of publication [for a scholarly journal, the year; for other periodicals, the day, month, and year, as available]: inclusive page numbers. Print.
You can auto-create book APA citations through Son of Citation as well by entering the book's ISBN. Another option is to look the book up in COM Library's book catalog, WorldCat. Once you have found the book in the catalog, click the Cite/Export tab to generate a citation.

All these question are answered by real COM Library staff, so we can only answer if we're open.
