I'm trying to find articles on the death penalty in Texas. I have not been able to find anything. I am not sure that I am searching correctly.
Answer
Go to the Databases by Subject LibGuide below and select the Hot Topic tab. All these databases will be good to search.
In Gale: Opposing Viewpoints, you can search for death penalty, then use the "seach within these results" toolbar on the left to search for Texas.
In Facts on File, search capital punishment AND texas.
In EBSCO Academic Search Complete, click on advanced search and type capital punishment into the first field, and select Subject from the drop down menu. Type Texas in the second field, and also select Subject.
Once you have your result list, use the limiters on the left for full text, date, and subject refinement.
Also, you might want government websites for this one. I actually found great references in the Wikipedia article on capital punishment in Texas. Please note you can't use the actual Wikipedia article, but their links to State of Texas websites and reports are useful.
