How do I find articles on Evolution for my persuasive speech?
Answer
Go to our Databases by Subject LibGuide below and select the Hot Topics tab.
Evolution is a broad topic (explaining the theory, science in schools, creationism, etc.) that you might want to narrow it down. Gale Opposing Viewpoints is a good resource for that. Search for evolution and browse the Viewpoints articles, which are pro/con on an issue. Also read the overview article at the top of the results page.
Academic articles in Opposing Viewpoints will provide scholarly resources, and the Reference materials are good for a broad overview. The database also has statistics, images, and other materials good for speeches.
Facts on File and EBSCO: Academic Search Complete are other good databases to try. EBSCO provides thousands of results, so it's better to use that once you have narrowed your topic a bit.
