Where can I find some scholarly articles about autism?
The COM Library academic databases have scholarly articles about this topic. Most of our databases are provided by Ebsco or Gale. Follow the link below to access the databases. When you click on either of the links, select the databases you want to search. For Ebsco, Academic Search Complete is typically a good place to start. In Gale, Health Reference Center will have some articles about autism, though these articles will focus on the health & nursing aspects of the topic.
In Ebsco, you can start with a basic search for autism and then limit the search either with the search limiters on the left side of the screen (full-text, date of publication, subject terms). Select Scholarly (Peer reviewed) Journals) to limit the search to academic articles. You also can start off with a more precise search, depending on the specific subtopic you are seeking information about, or search the subject headings (available through the link at the top) to perform a more precise search.
In Gale, you can do either a keyword or subject search. Check the 'to peer-reviewed publications' to limit your search to scholarly articles. Like with Ebsco, after your initial search you limit the search with subtopics listed on the left side of the screen, or by entering additional search criteria through the search bar beneath 'Search within results'.
