How can I find some peer reviewed articles about the prevalence of special needs among children?
Answer
Follow the link below to our Databases by Subject Libguide. In the guide, both the Education and Nursing tabs link to databases that will have some information about special needs children. Ebsco Academic Search Complete, CINAHL, and ERIC are all good places to look.
In the databases, you can retrieve all articles about special needs children by entering this search string: DE "CHILDREN with disabilities". You can narrow the search with the limiters on the left side of the screen. Select scholarly (peer reviewed) articles. You can also enter additional search criteria -- for example, DE "CHILDREN with disabilities" AND prevalence -- to weed out articles that do not in some way discuss the prevalence of special needs.
