I need articles on social exchange theory and friendship. I have searched EBSCO and can't find anything!

Answer

Sometimes tweaking your search terms and using search tools can make all the difference. In this case, it's also good to start off on the Speech tab and search in the EBSCO: All Interpersonal Communication databases (link below).

Click on Advanced Search
Check the Apply related words and the Also search within the full text of the articles
boxes.
Try using "social exchange" AND friend in your search.
From the result list, go to the left blue sidebar and click Subject: Thesaurus Term.
Click on Show More
From this list, select friendship and hit Update.
At this point you can also limit to full text and by date if you like.
