How do I cite a video game in MLA style?

The top link below goes to a guide at Lansing Community College Library that includes the template and an example of a video game citation, located at the bottom of the page.


You also can try EasyBib, an automatic citation generator, to make the citation.  Follow the link below to its Software Citation generator and enter the appropriate information.  For many games you can just search for the game's title and select from a list of previously made citations, but if you do you should double-check the information to make sure it is accurate.

You can also possibly use College of the Mainland's library catalog to create automatic citations for video games.  Follow the link to WorldCat below, enter the title of the game you want to cite, and select Libraries Worldwide from the drop-down box.  After the search has been done, click on Game from among the formats on the left side of the screen to limit the search results to video games.  If you find the game among the search results, select it and then in the item record click on the Cite/Export button to generate citations in several formats.  As with EasyBib, you should double-check the information in the citation.
