Answer

To find information about this subject, you can search science databases for articles that are about both solar and hydroelectric power.  Follow the link below to our Databases by Subject guide and select the Science tab to view the list of available databases.  Most of them are provided by EBSCO, and you can search them all at once by clicking on one and then, when in the database, selecting choose databases from the top and clicking the check boxes next to all science databases.

Once in the database you can start off with a basic keyword search for 'solar and water power' or something similar, and then try to limit the results with the subject terms on the left side of the screen.  Alternately, you can use the subject tab at the top of the screen to select appropriate subject headings for solar power and water power and combine them in a search.  The results of such a search can be viewed here.  You could also try researching the names of different types of solar technology and then search the databases for articles on each type of technology.  If you do not find what you need in COM's academic databases, you can try the free science databases listed below them.

You can also search our library catalog, WorldCat, for books on alternative energy sources.  Some of them may compare solar and hydroelectric power.
