Where can I find some peer-reviewed articles on assisted suicide?
You can find these types of articles in COM's academic databases. Follow the link below to our Databases by Subject libguide. Then select the Hot Topics & News tab. This will show you a list of our databases that contain information on controversial topics like assisted suicide. You can select an individual database and then search it for articles.
If you specifically want peer-reviewed articles, EBSCO: Academic Search Complete is the ideal place to begin searching. Do a search for assisted suicide, which will retrieve over 10,000 articles. To limit this to a more mangeable and relevant group of articles, use the limiters on the left side of the screen. First click on the full-text and Scholarly (Peer Reviewed) Journals options and click Update. Then go down to the Subject:Thesaurus Term box, select the assisted suicide subject heading, and click Update. This will limit the search to articles that are peer-reviewed and have specifically had assisted suicide assigned to them as a subject.
From there, if you wish, you can add more terms to your query to narrow your search further (ex. assisted suicide AND Kevorkian), or select other subject terms (ex. assisted suicide - law & legislation).
