Q

Does Texas gun law allow people to have guns in their car while on college campuses? This is for a research paper. How do I cite laws in MLA?

Answer

To search for Texas gun laws, go to TCAS-Texas Legislature Online. The link is below.

Click the Search button in the top. In the top drop down menu that appears, search Penal Code. Type weapon in the second search box. The rules about guns on campuses is in this document. To go straight there, use the Edit button in your browswer menu at the very top. Select "find". Type school, and that word will be highlighted.

Citing laws is a bit tricky. You won't find as much help online for this form. According to MLA, they don't provide guidance on state laws, just on federal laws.

Use the MLA style guide for guidance on this. We have copies for you to use and check out. Go to our catalog, linked below, and search for MLA style guide. Click on the title link to get the call number.
