How can I find literary criticism on Edgar Allen Poe? I want books, including Short Stories for Students.

To search our catalog, go to the WorldCat link below. You can do subject search by typing su: Poe, Edgar Allen. If a title looks interesting, click on the title link. You will want to stick to books that have a subject that mentions criticism. You can see the subjects on the top right hand side once you click on the title links.

To find information in Short Stories for Students,

There are several ways you can find that out without the print index:

Use the Gale Literary Index

    1. Go to the Literature Databases LibGuide (link below).
    2. Click on the All Literature Databases tab.
    3. Scroll down until you see Gale Literary Index and click on it.
    4. Search for any story by title or search by author.
    5. The index covers more volumes than the library owns, so make it matches the titles below, within the range of volumes listed:

    Search Literature Resources from Gale

    1. Go to the Literature Databases LibGuide (link below).
    2. Click on the Literature Resources from Gale tab.
    3. Click on the databases icon or title to search the database. 
    4. Much of the information in the Gale print books, listed above, are online in this database. You can access by searching for your author or literary work. Content from the print books will show up on the list if there is a match. 

    GVRL eBooks

    1. Go to the How to Use Literature Databases LibGuide (link below).
    2. Click on the GVRL eBooks tab.
    3. Clikc on the GVRL eBooks link.
    4. Search for any story by title or search by author.
    5. Limit by Publication title, Short Stories for Students.
