How can I find books on cardiomyopathy? I searched and did not find any in COMCat.
Answer
You should always try a specif term like cardiomyopathy first when searching COMCat, but we may not have an entire book on the topic. If you try a very specific term term like cardiomyopathy and don't retrieve anything, try a broader topic like heart disease. Books about heart disease may have information about cardiomyopathy, possibly even entire chapters. To determine this you will have to check the books themselves. Check the Table of Contents and Index for cardiomyopathy.
Alterntatively, if a cover shows for the books on your list, If you click on the title of a book from your result list, you can get more information about the book. You'll frequently find the table of contents, and sometimes you'll also find links to table of contents, biographical information, publisher description, and sample text (not always--the older a book is, the less likely you'll find these). You might even find a link to Google books, where you can read a brief description of the book, browse through the table of contents, read reviews, add it to your shard library and even search the full text of the book. Most books you access this way will only allow a limited view, meaning you can access some of the book to protect the copyright of the author and publisher of the book. This will be indicated by the Preview this book tab. If the tab says View this book, you can access the entire book.
