The ideal place to find information on this subject is our Hot Topics database list.  To access them, go to the Databases by Subject libguide linked below and select the Hot Topics & News tab.  This will present you with a list of databases that contain articles on current affairs and controversial topics. Issues & Controversies, Gale Opposing Viewpoints, and the EBSCO databases (particularly Academic Search Complete) all have relevant information.

  • Both Issues & Controversies and Opposing Viewpoints have resources on the subject, which can be found by entering drinking age in the respective sites' main search bars.
  • In EBSCO Academic Search Complete, a search for lowering drinking age will retrieve about 160 articles.  You can then refine the search with the tools on the left side of the screen (full-text articles only, subject headings, etc.).

You can also find books on this topic.  To do so, go to WorldCat (linked below) and search for drinking age.  COM Library does not have any books specifically about the legal drinking age, but there are some books about teenage drinking and they may discuss this particular issue.
